1st Annual Denver Zine Library Book Sale

The
Denver Zine Library is having a Book Sale fundraiser! And we
could use your help!
We need books!
Do
you have books that you are looking to get off of your shelves?
Books that you think other people should definitely read? Books
that you weren’t just that into, but maybe others will be?
We
need lots of book donations to help raise money for the Denver
Zine Library!
Please drop off books to the library located at: 1644 Platte
Street during open hours (Saturdays and Sundays from 1-5) or if
you can’t make it then, get in contact with Brian and he can
work with you to figure out another time. He can be reached
directly at: printhead@riseup.net
There is a box located in the library marked: Donations for Book
Sale!
This is a great chance to check out our space since we moved a
couple of months ago. You can access the library from the alley.
Just look for the bright green door. We are also working on
making a fabulous mural on the wall.
The Book sale will take place on
Saturday, May 3rd from 1:00 - 5:00 pm at the Denver
Zine Library!

3rd Annual Denver Zine Fest
Saturday, May 31, 2008, 10am-6pm
Hey Friends - The Denver Zine Fest will be here before you
know it!
Saturday May 31st from 10am to 6 pm at The First Unitarian Church on 14th
& Lafayette in the Capital Hill Denver area.
Our space is LIMITED this year so please sign up ASAP to vend yer wares!
$5 gets you a half table, if you need more space or need special
accommodations, please contact us to make arrangements.
If you are interested in hosting/teaching/doing a workshop, sign up!
Want to help in other ways?? Many many volunteer opportunities for you to do
so exist:
* Set up: Getting the space ready for vendors, setting up tables and chairs,
etc.
* Clean up: General cleaning up of area at the end of the day, taking down
tables and chairs
* Welcome wagon/Security: Helping direct folks around, tabling the front
Welcome Table, etc.
* Street Team: Flyering and general spreading of word/advertising/etc
* Housing/Driving out of town zinesters!

Denver Zine Library Open House

The Denver Zine Library is proud to show off its collection on
brand new shelves! The zine library is more organized and easier to navigate
than ever. Come check out our 7,000+ zines.
And... meet our fabulous new volunteers (who will be stopping by throughout
the day). Without these awesome folks, we wouldn't be nearly as organized as
we are now.
Also... the Denver Zine Library is only $150 away from becoming a 501(c)3
non-profit organization. Please help us reach our goal!!!

Zine Making Class

Located at Fancy Tiger, 1
South Broadway
Learn how to make a zine! This class is for people who aren't
really sure what a zine is as well as veteran zinesters looking for new ideas.
Taught by a Denver Zine Librarian, you will hear about the history of zines
and the local zine community, see several options for zine layouts, and learn
the mechanics of assembling a zine. Come with some creative ideas and leave
with a starter zine. Class fee includes all materials.
